Villa La Gran Tortuga is a very secluded and recently refreshed luxury estate in the Mayan Riviera. Located on Playa del Secreto, one of the most pristine white sand beaches in the world. This property is a unique oasis that offers ultimate privacy, security and seclusion in a postcard perfect tropical ocean setting, complete with natural palapa roofs, throughout.
The newly renovated, contoured swimming pool including 3D tortugas and an arched bridge lies against the white sands of the beach where you will find lounges and parasols just steps from the turquoise ocean and breaking waves. Sea kayaks are also available. To unwind, you can take a well deserved soak in the outdoor Jacuzzi as the sun starts to set or relax in the pool. There is a convenient new pool bath and shower. You will find a home entertainment system with dish network TV, a DVD player, Wireless Sonos sound and Wi-Fi. Your reservation includes housekeeping.
There are five (5) complete suites that sleep a total of ten (10) and the four rooms within the villa has a magnificent view of the Caribbean Sea. The jungle lagoon is breathtaking with its sunset views and bird sanctuary. Indoor living and dining spaces open right out onto the pool deck with cool sea breezes flowing day and night. Cushioned rattan furniture provide comfort and contribute to the pristine tropical ambience.
Three of the bedrooms include an en-suite bathroom with a Jetted tub, air conditioning, a sitting area, audio, video and a kitchenette. The fourth bedroom has an attached full bathroom and two twin beds. The master bed frame retains the natural shape of the tree trunk and roots from which it was hewn and is a magnificent addition to an overall concept that unites modern comfort with the thrills of Caribbean nature. The fifth suite is a detached garden casita with full bath, AC, audio, video and kitchenette.

Villa was for the most part very comfortable, and well located.
Proximity to the beach, combined with a private pool and hot tub were the best features. Minor concerns include weather worn Rataan family room set should be replaced. Wifi service was good, with separate routers for each room a plus. Our stay during Christmas week had very temperate weather, the ocean breeze was very comfortable at night. While not needed except a night or two, the air-conditioning in the master bedroom was not working well. House staff was very nice and attentive. I could converse with them in Spanish, other non-bilingual guests would have struggled to communicate. More electrical outlets in the family room would be helpful with a family always looking to charge phones, tablets, etc. Security guard at front gate was diligent and there every day. UNO Catering service was prompt and provided good chef services. Overall we had a nice stay.

In the middle of all the hotels and resorts on the Riviera Maya, you will find a hidden paradise at the Villa La Gran Tortuga. In the area, there is so much to see and do; the beaches, the sites, the food, the animals, etc.. Most of those things come with the cost of someone always trying to sell you something. At La Gran Tortuga, you get to have your cake and eat it too! Enjoy everything the area has to offer, but at the same time be afforded an escape to your own little hidden paradise!. The Villa itself was the best part of the trip… we made the mistake of only having dinner prepared for us once. We should have done it more times. It was awesome!

Awesome Vacation.
We have never used the service before and we're not quite sure what to expect. But we had a great time. We celebrated Father's Day and a birthday and both could not have been better. Oscar was always there as soon and sometimes before we needed him. House was awesome great views great beach great pool. The TV never really worked but we never really wanted to watch tv. One day it was sort of raining for a bit and so I tried it but never could get a signal. No big deal. Melanie was a great help finding us places for my birthday in playa and she answered all our questions. We had a great time. Have I said that already.

We could not have enjoyed our visit to Villa la Gran Tortuga more! The house was just as the photos depict, only you can't really get how beautiful and spacious the house is until you walk in. All of the rooms are/can be opened to face the beach, so you take full advantage of the constant breeze from the ocean and the amazingly beautiful views. I would recommend this house for families or couples traveling together, however the bedrooms are separated from each other and only accessible from outside the main part of the house, so might be better suited for older children. Ours are 21 and 18, and they enjoyed their "space". Melanie did a great job of showing us around the house and making recommendations for restaurants, grocery stores and helping us plan activities. She checked in with us every day to see if we needed anything. Oscar and his wife were always there 24/7 and kept the house and grounds impeccable. Always smiling! The beach and ocean in front of the house is perfect!
